Stop feeling sorry for yourself

Every person has some limiting beliefs that mostly originate in childhood. If not addressed, they will have negative impact on a person’s life, the thoughts they think, their feelings, behaviours and choices that they make.

In my family for example there have been many people, including the closest ones, addicted to being the victim. Looking at my past, I can see that victimhood is definitely something that I need to pay close attention to and watch my thoughts, feelings and behaviours in order not to repeat the same mistakes that I made in the past. All of us at some point in our lives will play victims, but for some victimhood is going to be more of an issue than for others. Just like with everything that doesn’t serve us, first we need to become aware of it in order to change it. It is in the process of constant observation of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours that we can make a change. Nothing obviously happens without our willingness and our persistence. Not only do we need to know what it is that we need to change, but we need to want to change and persevere. The more we do, the more we are going to succeed.

Knowing what it is that we want to achieve, spending time every day in meditation, connecting to Source, being vigilant and changing unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours without any guilt or judgment but with love, kindness and understanding towards ourselves, might at first seem like a chore, but after a while when we choose ourselves, our happiness and won’t give up, it will become easier. When you persevere and start to see things changing for the better, begin to notice synchronicities in your life, insights or downloads, you will be motivated to continue on your path and work even harder. Source rejoices when you choose yourself, when you want to change and when you persevere with love for yourself. There is no limit to the love, guidance and support that is always available to you.

I can’t stress enough how important making a decision to change and not giving up is. You will have some better and worse days, but every time you decide to meditate, every time you feel worthy and persevere, your efforts will be noticed by Source. Every decision to carry on will bring you closer to Source, to your goal, to wholeness.

Please know that even if you do the work every day, you will be challenged. There will be moments when old, unwanted patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings that you were sure you overcame, will appear again. It can feel frustrating, however it is important to remember that just like everybody else, you have created many layers of thinking and feeling certain way and the change is not going to be sudden. We are always given an opportunity to go deeper and make bigger changes when we are ready for it.

It is the times when we are challenged and when we do not feel like doing the work that are the most important on our journey, that help us grow and evolve the most.

Every day I am reminded of the importance of daily meditation, of going inside and connecting to my Truth, to love. Why is that so vital? When I was going through some hard times recently, I understood even more that my dedication, my love for Source and for myself have created a strong connection with the Divine. I know that I am guided and supported. The guidance comes in many forms and what I hear, feel, experience and the way that Source’s love and guidance is shown to me is unique to me and will be different to what you might experience. I had some really tough days when it was easy for me to slip into a mode of victimhood, however even at my lowest, not once did I not show up for my morning meditation. Not only that, but even when I was poorly, I would still make an effort and travel long distances to meet my friends for walking meditations. I could have given up, negative thoughts and feelings that were a consequence of me having to time and time again dig into my past (there was an important reason why I had to do it) caused a lot of fear, guilt, self-pity, blame and judgment to come up, but I carried on connecting to Source every day. In one of my meditations I heard a loving, but firm voice saying "Stop feeling sorry for yourself". It was a message that I couldn’t ignore. There was no beating about the bush. The message was direct and powerful, it was said at the right time and in the right way and it meant a lot to me. I would have never heard it if I got myself lost in self-pity.

Feeling like a victim was not loving to me and it had nothing to do with the future that I keep creating every day, but everything to do with my past.

Every time I start feeling sorry for myself the message comes to my mind and I change the way I think and feel. That’s how powerful this message has been for me.

I am not saying it all to you in order to brag, but just to show you how important it is to always choose yourself and never give up. The message to stop feeling sorry for myself, wasn’t the only guidance that I have received. I am given many messages in many different forms every day. Why can I perceive them? I am no more special than you are, I simply continue to choose myself every day, I connect to Source, to love, I am grateful, I feel worthy and therefore I am able to receive the support and guidance that is always available to all of us.

The more love you feel for yourself, the more trust you put in yourself and the more you believe in yourself, the stronger your conviction and clarity will be, the stronger the connection with Source and the more help and love you will perceive and receive 💜
